Granny Delivery #2

Granny Esther was born in Idaho, but has spent most of her adult life here in American Fork.  She has one daughter, who cannot visit as often as they would both like.  She has been in a rest home for just over four years, but says she can’t complain because everyone is very nice.  She was so sweet to us and invited us to sit down and talk with her for awhile.  Among other things, she told us that before she entered a rest home she had volunteered on the organizational committee of American Fork’s annual Steel Days for as long as she can remember.  So, all of us that enjoy Steel Days have Granny Esther to thank!

Our First Granny Delivery!!!

Today we delivered our first Granny delivery to Granny Jeanne.  Granny Jeanne was born in 1925.  She is the proud mother of three children, but does not get to see them as often as she would like.  Besides being a mother, she also spent 22 years as a nurse’s aide working with newborns.
She has been in a rest home for just over a year now, but she likes to kid that it has been 11.  Sometimes she even jokes that she purchased the furniture.  
Granny Jeanne loves flowers; in fact, this week she spent most of her time helping the rest home employees plant flowers around the home.  But, she could not believe that our delivery today was for her.  She kept smiling and saying, “They are so beautiful!”  After we left, the rest home called to thank us, saying that Granny Jeanne sobbed because no one had ever done something like that for her.

Our Just Because Grannies Deliveries

Just Because Flowers is now donating flowers for every $35 order toward a beautiful arrangement for one of our favorite local grannies. We have teamed up with local rest homes to find the elderly who could use a boost.

As part of our goal to bring a smile to as many elderly as possible, we are also offering free delivery to anyone wanting to donate an arrangement to a local rest home.
